From dads and darkness to festivals and food, we’ve got it covered this week!
In music news, VOX Cape Town presents a classical concert in the dark at Youngblood Gallery on Wednesday 13th; the Artscape Opera House hosts the third concert of the autumn symphony season from the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra on Thursday 14th, featuring pianist Spencer Myer and works by Tchaikovsky, Grieg, and Prokofiev; the Cape Town Concert Series ends the current season with a matinee recital at the Baxter Theatre on Saturday 16th; and the Silver Mountain Music Festival is on all weekend.
At the movies, Ster-Kinekor is releasing the horror Hereditary (and The Incredibles 2 from Pixar) on Friday 15th while The Fugard Bioscope is screening Stephen Sondheim’s legendary musical Follies, staged for the first time at the National Theatre and broadcast live to cinemas, on Sunday 17th. Speaking of theatre, the world premiere of the docudrama #JustMen opens at the Baxter Theatre on Wednesday 13th.
