In entertainment news, comedian Dave Chappelle brings the laughs to the Grand Arena on Tuesday 27th, Pieter Dirk-Uys returns to the Fugard Theatre with his new show from Tuesday 27th, the Playtopia festival offers indie games and interactive arts at the Castle of Good Hope from Friday 30th, and the Fugard Bioscope is screening the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Romeo and Juliet on Sunday 2nd.

Music events include Classics at Le Lude with pianists Nina Schumann and Luis Magalhães on Sunday 2nd while the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra is performing in three concerts: at Cape Town City Hall on Thursday 29th, at the Endler Hall in Stellenbosch on Friday 30th, and with the Heavenly Quartez on Sunday 2nd. You can also enjoy the sounds of Vusi Mahlasela at Ellerman Sessions on Thursday 29th and Lady Zamar / Black Motion for the Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts on Sunday 2nd.

In movie news, the Galileo Open Air Cinema is screening four film this week: The Vow at Kirstenbosch on Wednesday 28th, Wild in Hout Bay on Thursday 29th, How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days at Meerendal Wine Estate on Friday 30th, and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again in Paarl on Saturday 1st. You can also find more outdoor adventures at the Wavescape Surf and Ocean Festival from Wednesday 28th.

Drinks events this week include the first of the Stellenbosch Street Soirees on Wednesday 28th, the Cape Town Festival of Beer from Friday 30th, the Atlantic Beach Bubbly & Gin Summer Festival on Saturday 1st, and the Franschhoek Cap Classique & Champagne Festival all weekend.

Indeed, with the holiday season already here, now’s a good time to get into the spirit at the best festive markets in the Cape and make your shopping less stressful when you visit these top restaurants in malls. You can also celebrate at the annual Moët & Chandon Golden Tree Lighting Ceremony on Thursday 29th and the Adderley Street Festival of Lights on Sunday 2nd.
