As one month ends, another begins with great things to do!
In entertainment news, the musical Into the Woods comes to Theatre on the Bay from Wednesday 30th, the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra presents its second concert of the season at City Hall on Thursday 31st, the Fugard Theatre is screening Comédie-Française’s The Misanthrope on Sunday 3rd, and the Jesters in the Park bring some comedy to the Maynardville Open Air Theatre this weekend.
There’s more to enjoy outdoors with the Galileo Open Air Cinema screening four movies this week: Ready Player One at Kirstenbosch on Wednesday 30th, Love Rosie at Rustenburg Girls’ High School in Rondebosch on Thursday 31st, The Revenant at the V&A Waterfront on Friday 1st, and Grease at Plaisir De Merle on Saturday 2nd. Meanwhile, there are three outdoor gigs on Sunday 3rd: Sipho Hotstix Mabuse and The Rudimentals at De Waal Park, Mi Casa and Majozi at Vergenoegd Löw Wine Estate, and The Soil at Kirstenbosch.
In the winelands, the free Spier Light Art Festival ends on Wednesday 30th while the Franschhoek Summer Wines takes place at Leopards Leap on Saturday 2nd, which is also South African National Beer Day.
Finally, it’s a week full of sporting events, with Fittest in Cape Town from Thursday 31st, the Cape Town 10s from Friday 1st, and the Super Hero Sunday Double Header, all taking place in Green Point.
