In theatre news, the KKNK concludes in Oudtshoorn on Wednesday 27th, Save the Pedestals opens at the Baxter Theatre for a limited run from Thursday 28th, and Equus starts at Theatre on the Bay on Friday 29th.

Music events include Ed Sheeran (with singer/songwriter Passenger) at the Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th; the Cape Town International Jazz Festival at the CTICC on Friday 29th and Saturday 30th; as well as Goodluck and Easy Freak at the final Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concert of the season on Sunday 31st.

Staying outdoors, the Galileo Open Air Cinema is screening four films this week: Hanna at Kirstenbosch on Wednesday 27th; Alexander And The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day at Kirstenbosch on Thursday 28th; Julie & Julia at the V&A Waterfront on Friday 29th; and Mamma Mia! In Stellenbosch on Saturday 30th.

To celebrate World Waffle Day on Monday 25th, grab a bite at Jessy’s Waffles or at one of the best waffle spots in Cape Town. You could also keep things slimmer with French crêpes at Swan Café, listed as one of places to get SA’s best sweet treats, or try a bubbly and macaron pairing at Canto Boutique Winery in Durbanville.

What else can you get up to this weekend? Get inked at the third annual South African International Tattoo Convention at the V&A Waterfront, put your best foot forward at the Slave Route Challenge in Bo-Kaap, or uncover something new at the Earth Hour Adventure at Kirstenbosch.
