It might be a long weekend, but there’s a lot to keep you busy!

Music events include Sam Smith in three concerts at the Grand Arena from Tuesday 16th, the third symphony concert from the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra at City Hall on Thursday 18th, Handel’s Messiah on Friday 19th and Sunday 21st, a free Battery Park Concert on Friday 19th, as well as the inaugural Summersault Festival from Jeremy Loops on Sunday 21st.

If that’s no enough to get you out, the Galileo Open Air Cinema ends its current season in a final week with five screenings: Wanderlust at Kirstenbosch on Wednesday 17th, Bridesmaids at Kirstenbosch on Thursday 18th, Avatar at Meerendal Wine Estate on Friday 19th, Legends of the Fall in Helderberg on Saturday 20th, and a special Easter screening of Hop at Kelvin Grove Club on Sunday 21st.

What else can you get up to over the long weekend? If you’re not running the Two Oceans Marathon on Saturday 20th, treat yourself to an Easter weekend feast in and around Cape Town. But if you can’t wait that long, the latest edition of Restaurant Week starts on Thursday 18th, with two-course lunches from R150 and three-course dinners from R250.

If you want to go away but don’t know where, here’s guide to the best nature reserve getaways in the Cape as well as details on safari experiences and safari accommodation, like Gondwana at Sanbona. You can also stay in the city and discover Cape Town’s secret stories. Just don’t keep them to yourself!
