Festivals, freedom, and a lot of fun in this week’s event guide!
In music news, there’s a performance in Paarl from Andrea Bocelli on Monday 22nd, a Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra symphony concert at City Hall on Thursday 25th, and a De Waal Park concert on Sunday 28th. Other entertainment highlights include Monster Jam at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday 27th and FanCon at the CTICC this weekend.
To celebrate World Earth Day on Monday 22nd, here’s how to reduce your plastic use in Cape Town and other eco-friendly initiatives in Cape Town. And if you’re out in the winelands, enjoy farm-to-table cuisine with the Werf Restaurant at Boschendal, winner of the Eat Out Woolworths Sustainability Award.
Speaking of food, there are so many festivals this week that it’s hard to keep up with them all: the South African Cheese Festival in Stellenbosch from Friday 26th, the Oysters, Bubbles and Blanc Festival in Durbanville from Saturday 27th, and the Pinot Noir Festival at the Vineyard Hotel on Sunday 28th.
If you’re attending the Pringle Bay Festival, here’s a Pringle Bay travel guide. And if you’re attending the Elgin Cool Wine and Country Food Festival, shop at the art deco-themed station in Elgin, eat at Elgin’s new farm-to-table gem, and sleep in a luxury tent among the trees in Elgin. You’ll need plenty of rest after all that fun!
