All things Italian and French are featured in this week’s event guide!
In arts and entertainment news, Cape Town Opera presents its latest production (with an associated Italian Opera Costume Exhibition) at the Artscape from Wednesday 15th, the The Michaelis Players are performing at Casa Labia on Thursday 16th, and comedian Russell Peters is at the Grand Arena on Friday 17th.
Highlights this weekend include a Bo-Kaap Walking Tour on Saturday 18th, the Cabernet Franc Carnival in Somerset West on Saturday 18th, and the annual Franschhoek Literary Festival (coinciding with the Autumn Music Weekend) from Friday 17th.
After feeding your mind, you can feed your body at some of Franschhoek’s restaurants. They’re ranked among the best in the country from Eat Out – La Petite Colombe is 5th, Foliage is 13th, Chefs Warehouse at Maison is 16th, and Le Coin Français is in the top 30 – and also include new gems like Protégé (casual dining at Le Quartier Français), Marigold, and more!
You can also raise a glass with the Franschhoek Brew Hopper, take a trip on the Franschhoek Wine Tram (which you can connect to via Cape Town), or wine-hop in style thanks to Tuk Tuk Franschhoek. Cheers!
