Fish, festivals, and fine art in this week’s event guide!
In music news, Grammy winner Ben Harper performs in Cape Town for the first time on Tuesday 4th, the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra opens its winter symphony season at City Hall on Thursday 6th, the Philharmonia Choir of Cape Town presents Carmina Burana at City Hall on Friday 7th, and the Belmond Mount Nelson’s Classical Music Evenings begin on Saturday 8th.
If you’re attending the Hermanus FynArts Festival this weekend, have a meal at one of the best restaurants in Hermanus and the Overberg and spend a night of luxury at Birkenhead House or nearby Grootbos. Two more options if you’re keen to get out of town are the Robertson Wacky Wine Weekend and the Port Owen Experience, both from Friday 7th to Sunday 9th.
Back in the city, expect a feast at the second annual Refugee Food Festival from Tuesday 4th. You can also celebrate World Oceans Day on Saturday 8th at one of the best seafood restaurants in Cape Town (including SeaBreeze Fish and Shell in the CBD and Goldfish Eatery in Strand) and celebrate World Gin Day on Sunday 9th with a gin-lover’s guide to Cape Town. Cheers!
