In entertainment news, the musical Kinky Boots opens at The Fugard on Tuesday 11th, comedian Marc Lottering brings his new stand-up show to Theatre on the Bay from Wednesday 12th, the play Van Wyk: The Storyteller of Riverlea starts at the Baxter Theatre on Wednesday 12th, and the Encounters South African International Documentary Festival ends on Sunday 16th.

In the world of music, this week’s highlights are the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra at City Hall on Thursday 13th, a winter matinee from the Cape Town Concert Series on Saturday 15th (with the Full Moon at the Castle of Good Hope that evening), and the Silver Mountain Music Festival all weekend.

This week’s top foodie events are the free guided beer tasting at Beerhouse on Wednesday 12th, the Franschhoek Winter Wines on Saturday 15th, and Seven Days of Shiraz and Venison at over two dozen wine estates all week.
